WHO AM I?

From Youth Leadership to Business Leader

Youth Leadership Program

At age 13, my local Boy Scout Troop provided me an opportunity to earn my Communications Merit Badge by participating in a Toastmasters YLP. I learned all the basic communication skills there.  It was enough to carry me through earning my Eagle Scout, High School, Military Service, College and many jobs.  I assumed it was enough until I joined my first club in 2013.  My world has never been the same.

Learning to Lead

I knew I wanted to be a leader when I joined Toastmasters.  It took becoming an Area Director to understand just how much. This experience helped me realize this journey was  bigger than just me.  After serving as a Division Director & all three Trio positions, I started to see that I had more to offer. I took on bigger projects at work; then became a supervisor.

Becoming a Strategic Planner

Over 30 years of business experience, including creating business plans, managing teams, and unit cost analysis. Working at a Fortune 500 company for more than 23 years has helped put the skills learned in Toastmasters to the test.  As a Chief of Staff to an executive leader, I was often tasked with negotiating, managing expense exercises and motivating others to adopt a position.  My success grew as I continued to grow in Toastmasters.
