WHO AM I?

From Youth Leadership to Business Leader

Youth Leadership Program

At 13, my local Scout Troop offered me the opportunity to earn the Communications Merit Badge by participating in a Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program. During this experience, I gained vital communication skills that helped me achieve my Eagle Scout rank, finish high school, serve in the military, attend college, and excel in multiple jobs. I believed these skills were enough until I joined my first club in 2013, which completely changed my life.

Learning to Lead

I uncovered my passion for leadership when I joined Toastmasters, and it was my time as an Area Director that truly revealed the depth of that aspiration. This experience made me aware that my journey extended beyond myself. After serving as a Division Director and in all three Trio roles, I recognized that I had even more to give. This realization inspired me to take on larger projects at work, which ultimately led to a supervisory position.

Becoming a Strategic Planner

With over 30 years of business experience, I have honed my expertise in creating business plans, managing teams, and conducting unit cost analysis. My 25+ years at a Fortune 500 company allowed me to apply the skills I developed in Toastmasters, particularly in negotiation and team motivation. As a Chief of Staff to an executive leader, I successfully managed expense exercises and other high profile projects to embrace change. My journey in Toastmasters has been integral to my professional growth and achievements.
